No. 10 Iowa State and No. 25 Oregon are looking to put a cap on wildly different seasons in the 2021 Fiesta Bowl. After one quarter, both teams have flexed their offenses on scripted drives with remarkable efficiency in a 7-7 game.
The Cyclones got things started with an impressive 15-play, 75-yard drive that ended in a Breece Hall touchdown -- his 20th of the season. But in response Oregon marched right down the field on its own seven-play, 73-yard scoring drive that mixed in quarterbacks Tyler Shough and Anthony Brown. Running back Travis Dye, in for the injured CJ Verdell, had a 23-yard run as part of a couple of big plays.
With both offenses off to fast starts, it'll be interesting to see what kind of defensive adjustments will be made moving forward. Oregon has a tremendous pass rush and Iowa State was one of the Big 12's stingiest defenses this season.
