Picking a waterfront hotel almost always guaranteed a show-stopping view. But how about one that, in addition to magnificent vistas of the Atlantic Ocean, also doubles up as the prime seats for one of the world’s leading yacht races? 

Enter the newly launched Newport Bermuda Race package from Hammetts Hotel. Timed to the highly anticipated 53rd running of the race, which sets sail off from Newport, Rhode Island, on Friday, June 21, the immersive experience will include yacht views at race send-off, private sailing lessons, roundtrip airfare to Bermuda, a private villa escape as well as two nights at the Hammetts Hotel.

The Bermuda Race is the oldest regularly scheduled ocean race and one of the very few international distance races, attracting sailors from across North America and the globe. Setting off from Newport, the 635-mile race can take anywhere from two to six days to complete, before finishing at St David’s Lighthouse in Bermuda. The 2022 race saw 220 boats competing, so it’s safe to say there’s already plenty of anticipation ahead of this year’s fleet.

As the official hospitality sponsor of the 2024 race, Hammetts Hotel not only offers an unparalleled vantage point for spectators during the highly-anticipated biennial yacht race but also provides exclusive access across the weekend to the exhilarating competition.

In detail, the package, which totals $65,000, includes a stay in Hammetts Hotel’s Marina King Suite for the duration of the racing weekend; an exclusive seat on a 30-ft Hinckley yacht or the Hinckley Picnic Boat for the race send-off; a private sailing lesson with Sail Newport; dining at Giusto, the Italian restaurant on Hammetts Wharf; a $500 gift card to sustainable clothing brand Holebrook Sweden; and round trip business class flights to Bermuda from Boston. 

If that was not enough, the package also includes an additional one-week stay at Leamington Caves, a private, eight-bedroom cliffside retreat in Bermuda. The 12,000-sq-ft residence features private on-site crystal caves, an infinity pool and a yoga deck, with an onsite private chef, organized yoga classes, massages and more.
