Caribou Coffee opened May 22 at 130 N.C. 801 South in Bermuda Run.
It is the chain's 10th location in North Carolina, including several each in Charlotte and Raleigh, and one in Greensboro.
Nationwide, Caribou has about 800 locations, both franchises and company-owned stores.

In addition to a full line of coffee drinks, Caribou offers "fruit shakers," energy drinks and teas. Its food menu includes breakfast sandwiches and baked goods.
The store plans a grand-opening celebration from May 31 through June 9. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. May 31 and free coffee mugs to the first 100 customers that day. Other special offers will be available throughout the week.
