The thrice delayed Steelers vs. Ravens game is finally kicking off Wednesday afternoon in Pittsburgh, but the Baltimore contingent will be shorthanded because of its ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
It will in some ways be a forced throwback to 2012 for the Edgar Allan Poe-inspired birds, who in these end-times have never been more aligned with the tone of their dark forebearer. Robert Griffin III and Dez Bryant were among the best at their respective positions eight years ago; they are now being asked for production that might be well beyond their current abilities. Likewise, 37-year-old cornerback Tramon Williams is in line to get extra field time if Jimmy Smith's hurt ankle doesn't hold up.
So, the Steelers (10-0) enter as heavy favorites to pick apart one of their most hated rivals. But the Ravens (6-4), who have dropped consecutive games, come in with urgency that might allow them to compete above their expectations.

Steelers vs. Ravens will start at 3:40 p.m. ET to finish off an extended Week 12 seven weeks after Bills-Titans took place on Tuesday night for the first Tuesday NFL game in a decade. This will be the first Wednesday game since 2012.
The game's branding will be all out of whack with it initially scheduled to be done by the "Sunday Night Football" crew on Thanksgiving night and now taking place on a Wednesday.
