Houston Texans Final Score/Post-Game Recap: Texans 20, Colts 27 - Battle Red Blog

Two weeks ago, we saw the Texans find themselves at the Colts’ two yard line on a potential game-winning drive. Nick Martin snapped the ball low and to the left of Deshaun Watson. The Colts recovered the fumble. The Texans lost.

Today, the Texans found themselves in a nearly identical spot. Down by a score. Needing a touchdown. Playing the Colts again. Keke Coutee split the short middle of the field to convert the first down. He had it. Houston would live to play another down. Coutee tried to fight for extra yards. After the catch, with his back to the Colts’ linebackers, the ball was knocked out from behind him. A scramble in the end zone. A mosh pit to victory.

The Colts recovered. Again. The Texans lost. Again.

2020 has been a miserable season. It was a lost after an 0-4 start, and every lost season that features the glory that is Deshaun Watson starting at quarterback is a tragedy, something to lament, something to keep a purple storm cloud hanging above your bed. At the same time, 2020 led to the end of Bill O’Brien, and thus a return and hope for something more than the limited present we all had been currently residing in.

For this season to be perfect, more than grand, it needed a Texans upset over the Colts. Screw the Colts always and forever. So close. It just had to happen this way again.

At least Kahale Warring finally caught his first two passes.

The Texans play the Bengals next Sunday at 12 p.m.
