Ed, the global reinsurance, wholesale and specialty broker, announces the appointment of Colin Kelley as head of Ed’s new Liability Division in Bermuda. Effective immediately, Kelley will lead the professional lines, casualty and healthcare teams.
Kelley brings more than 16 years of both underwriting and broking experience to the business. He joins from Sompo International where he held the role of Commercial Lines Practice leader, Professional Lines, since 2010. Prior to this, he held various roles on the Marsh FINPRO teams in both Bermuda and New York.
“When we launched Ed in Bermuda seven months ago, we made a commitment to build a leading-edge brokerage firm and attract the best talent possible, and I am proud of the progress we have made so far,” commented Chris Bonard, CEO Ed Bermuda. We have attracted some of the industry’s leading insurance specialists and can now offer our clients a broad range of products. The culmination of John Turner, Carrie Kelley, Mark Simons and now Colin, in addition to the rest of the team underlines this.”
Bonard said Ed is “acutely aware that customers and insurance personnel are gradually being left with less and less choice.”
“That’s why I believe our launch on the island is so well timed. We are continuing to build a long term, independent solution that has a fresh perspective on what’s important to our clients and colleagues,” he added.
Kelley commented: “Ed is building a dynamic Bermuda team and product offering – I am excited to be involved from the ground level. Utilizing innovative technology, we will be providing our clients unparalleled access to the well-established Bermuda marketplace, while generating a new stream of diversified business to our carrier partners.”
Ed is owned by BGC Partners Inc., a financial brokerage and technology company.
