Professional services firm KPMG has released its annual Corporate Citizenship Report outlining the firm’s support of community initiatives during 2018.
The firm focuses its efforts on youth development, education, health, and the environment. Its corporate giving also covers grassroots charities with a focus on culture, art and humanities. Additionally, KPMG provides professional services on a full or partial pro-bono basis to not-for-profit organisations.
Examples of KPMG’s community activities in 2018 include:
• Dellwood Middle School: Work shadowing days allowed students to spend time with KPMG staff to discover the kinds of careers available at the firm, and to receive planning and preparation advice to get career-ready. The firm also donated 50 reconditioned laptops and oversaw and funded the installation of campus-wide WiFi.
• Make A Difference Day: KPMG staff volunteered their time to support the Bermuda National Trust and Bermuda Zoological Society.
• Movember: the firm’s men grew facial hair in support of men’s health. With the support of their female co-workers, they raised $7,500 for the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre during Movember in Bermuda.
• Relay for Life: KPMG raised $23,971 for the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, far surpassing their donation goal of $10,000, by hosting a variety of fundraising initiatives leading up to the relay.
• Toys For Tots: Employees organised a toy donation to fill Santa’s sleigh during the annual, island-wide Toys for Tots campaign.
“Our annual report is our way of reflecting on what corporate citizenship means to all of us. Through it, we celebrate what we have accomplished as a team over the past year and maintain accountability for our commitments,” added Stephen Caton, COO and chairman of the corporate citizenship committee, KPMG in Bermuda.
