A 59-year-old crew member on the container ship Bomar Resilient was transferred ashore by pilot boat and taken to hospital in Bermuda, after suffering a suspected heart attack.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “BMOC received a call from the Maltese flagged container ship Bomar Resilient, 160 nautical miles south of Bermuda, reporting that a 59-year-old crew member was suffering from chest pains, now attributed to a suspected heart attack.
“The Captain received medical advice from ashore with instructions to divert at best speed towards Bermuda. At 1:00pm, the patient was safely transferred ashore by pilot boat and taken via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, while Bomar Resilient continued to its next port of call in Rotterdam.”
