The 2018 Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational got underway at the Durham County Memorial Stadium in Durham, North Carolina with athletes from Bermuda competing.
Competing in the 13-14 Boys Javelin Throw, Javed Sutton-Simons finished third with a top throw of 32.86m, with Kahzi Sealey 4th throwing 26.53m.
Makayla Tucker with a leap of 10.47m would finish 4th competing in the 15-16 Girls Triple Jump, while Isael Smith captured the Silver Medal in the 11-12 Boys High Jump leaping 1.45m.
Sealey would win the 13-14 Boys 3000 Meter stopping the clock in 9:50.44, while Ryan Outerbridge would finish 4th in the 15-16 Boys 3000 Meter race clocking 9:21.22.
Johndell Cumberbatch won the Bronze Medal competing in the 17-18 Men’s 3000 Meter Race with a time of 9:43.72.
During the 9-10 Girls 200 Meter Dash Preliminaries Arimah Turner clocked the fastest Qualifying time of 29.67, while in the 9-10 Boys 200 Meter Dash Preliminaries Daylen Scott advanced to the final with the third fastest qualifying time of 29.23 and Kruz Iris advanced with the 7th fastest time of 30.23.
Isael Smith advanced to the 11-12 Boy’s 200 Meter Dash final with a time of 27.20, with Sanaa Rae Morris advancing to the 13-14 Girls 200 Meter Dash final with the 3rd fastest time of 26.26.
Clocking 23.31 Chayse Tanner advanced to the 13-14 Boys 200 Meter Dash final with the fastest time. Keturah Bulford-Trott finished 10th during the 15-16 Girls 200 Meter Dash clocking a time of 26.00.
During the 15-16 Boys 200 Meter Dash Clevonte Lodge finished the Preliminaries in 2nd with a time of 22.42, while Stephan Dill finished 9th in the 17-18 Men’s 200 Meter Dash stopping the clock in 21.80.
