It's a win-or-go-home scenario for the Grizzlies as they face the Trail Blazers in the first play-in tournament in NBA history.
No. 9 Memphis finished within four games of No. 8 Portland in the Western Conference standings, triggering the play-in tournament ahead of the first round of the 2020 NBA playoffs. The Trail Blazers only need to win one game in order to advance, but the Grizzlies must defeat the Trail Blazers twice if they want to secure the final playoff spot in the West.
The big matchup to watch in Saturday's game is the point guard battle between Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard and Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant. In his past three games, Lillard has averaged a ridiculous 51.3 points on 56.1 percent shooting. Morant, meanwhile, ensured the Grizzlies would capture a play-in berth with a triple-double (12 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) against the Bucks in Memphis' final "seeding game."
