Our first day in Bermuda was a success! We woke up bright and early for a wonderful breakfast at the Groto Bay Resort. We headed straight for the field to play our first game of the trip! We played against Bermuda's Senior Mixed team - which was a cool experience because we played against some men! As a whole, we played very well together! Our passing and talking was great, especially since it was the first time playing as a team. Bella Migliaro scored our first goal with an assist from Karley Welles after Migliaro had the last touch to score her first goal as a freshman.
After our game, we traveled to Cooper's Nature Reserve! We had a blast exploring different beaches and taking pictures in the beautiful clear blue water. You would never guess, but be aware of the ants - they are everywhere on the beaches of Bermuda! The weather really held out for us and, like our bus driver told us, "Bermuda is magical!" On a day that when it was forcast to rain, we had a few passing showers but a day full of sunshine!
When we got back to the resort, a lot of us explored the Cathedral Cave, which is an underground natural cave with a swimming hole. We had a few risk takers who dove and cannon-balled into the water! The afternoon was spent lounging around by the beautiful pool and playing on the playground in the water! We had a blast on the slide, swings, and trampoline in the middle of the ocean!
For dinner, we split into groups and had amazing food. Some of the team ate in the restaurant at the resort and others ate at the Swizzle Inn! After dinner, we had free time to hang out, play cards, and enjoy the karaoke in the restaurant at the resort.
The first day was full of excitement and was nonstop fun, to say the least. We got to experience playing together for the first time and bonding in the beautiful waters of Bermuda.
