Mara Faiazza, 25, pleaded guilty on Monday in the island nation’s Supreme Court to a charge that she illegally imported the drugs on May 19, The Royal Gazette reported.
It could have been worse for her but prosecutors did not pursue related charges of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply.
When Faiazza arrived at L.F. Wade International Airport on an Air Canada flight on May 19, police dogs alerted officials to her luggage.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos had released her on $100,000 bail, with her parents saying they could pay it into a local trust “within the hour,” Bermuda Real reported at the time. The accused’s heart condition was also cited as a reason to not keep her detained.
Upon her release, she was required to provide a local address to where she would stay and was fitted with an electronic monitoring device.
Faiazza was also ordered to surrender her travel documents and passport and was under curfew.
The Crown plans to seek prison time for the offence, Cindy Clarke, the director of Public Prosecutions, said in a statement.
She is expected back in court for sentencing on July 11.
